But great dances coming in November!
Our next Contra will be November 14th, when Mielle Rose will call to the music of Star Thistle (Lonna Whipple, David Wright, and Cheryl McKinney!
Before that, we’ll have an English Country dance on November 1st in Roseville, with Gary Sandler calling! We’ll be back at the Masonic Lodge, with Quite Carried Away!
November is another of those months where Contra and English are back-to-back in the same weekend, so the second English Country Dance will be on November 15th, at the YLI in Sacramento, featuring Yvonne Couvillion calling to the music of Quite Carried Away!
Community Note: On Labor Day, we lost Michael Silver to cancer. A truly major figure in our English Country Dance community, Michael for many years scheduled the callers, conducted the beginner/refresher sessions, sent out dance notices to a mailing list separate from this one, and did much else for the dance community along with his wife, Chris Ratekin. They were a formidable duo, and we owe them much. She survives him, as do their daughters Alisa and Julia.
